How can I join Moderator Toastmasters Club?
You are welcome to attend any Tuesday evening meeting as a guest. After a few visits, you can apply for membership through our VP Membership.
Do I need to speak French and English to join?
Not at all! Our club is officially bilingual, but you are free to speak in either English or French at every meeting.
How much are the membership fees?
Membership fees are set by Toastmasters International plus a small club fee. For 2025–2026, they are $262 for 12 months or $139 for 6 months, plus a one-time new member fee of $39.
Where and when do you meet?
We meet every Tuesday evening at 6:30 PM at the Scotia Bank Building (Sherbrooke Ouest & Metcalfe) in downtown Montreal, with a beautiful view of Mount Royal.
What happens at a typical meeting?
Each meeting includes short impromptu speeches, prepared speeches, and constructive evaluations. Members can practice public speaking and leadership in a supportive environment.
Can I visit before deciding to join?
Absolutely! Guests are always welcome free of charge. Visiting is the best way to experience the club’s atmosphere and see how Toastmasters can benefit you.

Can children join Moderator Toastmasters?
No. According to Toastmasters International guidelines, membership is open to adults who are at least 18 years old. Children and teenagers cannot join, but young people can explore the Youth Leadership Program if they want to experience public speaking at an earlier age.
What can I get from Moderator Toastmasters Club?
You will find a safe place to practice whatever you want. You will gain confidence in public speaking, develop leadership by learning how to manage projects, and of course, improve your communication skills.
What’s more, Moderator is also a warm community for networking and building friendships.
Do I need to follow a course before joining the club?
No. You don’t need to complete any course before joining. Moderator Toastmasters Club is open to everyone, regardless of prior experience. Once you become a member, you will receive access to Toastmasters’ Pathways learning program, which guides you step by step in developing speaking and leadership skills. You can start learning right away, at your own pace.
What is Pathways?
Pathways is Toastmasters International’s official education program. It offers a flexible, step-by-step learning system that helps you build practical skills in public speaking, communication, and leadership. You can choose from 6 specialized learning paths, such as Presentation Mastery, Leadership Development, or Effective Coaching, depending on your personal and professional goals.
